Year 7 2027 Enrolments

‍ ‍

At Western Heights College, we believe every young person has the potential to thrive. Our passionate teachers, contemporary learning spaces and engaging curriculum are designed to inspire curiosity, confidence and a love of learning, while preparing students for a wide range of future pathways. Our community is guided by three core values—Courage, Inclusion and Responsibility.

These values are at the heart of everything we do. They shape the way we learn together, support one another and encourage every student to grow into the best version of themselves.

The transition to Year 7 is a significant and exciting milestone. Our carefully planned transition program ensures students feel known, supported and connected from their very first day, building a strong sense of belonging and confidence as they begin their secondary school journey.‍‍ ‍

I can see where we’ve come from.
I can look forward to where we are going to.
I can understand who we are, what our ambition is.
I can know what we stand for, and how to share these with our students, teachers, parents and community.

I can start now.

Principal’s Welcome

Tomorrow throws up as many challenges as it does opportunities.

The dominance of all things digital. The explosion of information

and misinformation. The pervasive influence of social networks.

The science and politics of our changing climate. The unknown future of work (“85% of jobs that will exist in 2030 haven’t been invented yet,” Dell Technologies). These and other cultural, social, political and economic shifts signal change like never before.

Each of them have been hailed as either the greatest threat or the most exciting possibility for our students.

So more than ever, whether an individual student says, “I can” or “I can’t” depends on us, as educators. We have a crucial role: to empower, inform and mentor our students to make inspired choices, to find their own academic, vocational and personal pathways and, above all else, to be their best.

We believe our school is uniquely equipped to meet these challenges and make the most of opportunities. It’s as much about our mind-set, values and point-of-view as it is about our physical structures and grounds. It is an incredibly exciting time to be a part of this school. This is an invitation to join us as we better our school and the relationship everyone has with it.
